More About Saffron (Kesar):

Saffron is a wonderful ingredient in many sweet and savory recipes for Krishna Prasadam. In temples, pujaris use Saffron in the Charnamrta liquid they offer to Krishna. People also mix it with gopi chandan for head and body tilakas. 

During Holi times in the temples Krishna plays Holi with Radharani using Kesar Liquid.
