The Chand Kazi, the local Muslim magistrate of Navadvipa, banned the chanting of the holy name by the devotees, so Lord Caitanya led a civil disobedience march to his home. The two then debated the differences between the Muslim and Hindu scriptures. After coming to a peaceful resolution, Chand Kazi said, "I know that Narayana is the Supreme God of the Hindus, and I think that You are the same Narayana. This I feel within my mind."
