Soaking will make the beads strong. If you don't soak the beads may crack after some time. So it is very important to soak tulsi japa beads.
For tulsi neck beads it is better to soak them as well, but for small neck beads you can just cover them in oil with your hands and rub it in, but still best is to soak them in oil also. see less
