When Rama and Laksmana discovered that Sita had been kidnapped, They were overcome with grief. In anguish They searched everywhere and finally learned that it was Ravana who had made off with Sita. Later Rama met a tribe of monkey warriors, headed by Hanuman and Sugriva, who could find Ravana's kingdom and help Rama regain Sita. Rama and Laksmana sealed an alliance with the monkeys and found them to be fiercely devoted followers.
